How can we improve Zappiti?

  4. Add "Criterion Collection" to the list of available banners.

    I see that custom banners has already been suggested. I think that is a great idea, but if that one is not accepted, at least include a "Criterion Collection" option. Maybe also have a "Criterion Collection 4K/UHD" option as well.

  5. Movie search engine for more than one category

    Since you can add and edit the different categories for each movie, it would be very useful to be able to filter movies with more than one category later. For example, see all the movies that have the categories of comedy, war and science fiction at the same time.

  6. Search engine to incorporate movies in sagas or groups of movies.

    When you want to incorporate a new movie into an existing saga, you have to find the corresponding saga by scrolling in alphabetical order. If you have many saga in your collection, it is very tedious to find the saga in this way. Having a search engine by the name of the saga would make finding the saga much faster.

  7. Apple File System (APFS)

    Please add the Apple File System (APFS) to Zappiti. This would be the first media player to support this file format. I haven't found a player that supports this format yet.

  9. Force the mediainfo on ALL files option

    In the current Video app mediainfo is only downloaded after when you select the file or manually by selecting the 'force retrieval of the mediainfo' in the menu. Because of this, the Blu-ray/4K banners are only displayed in the movie wall after you have done this for each file. Especially with large collections this is not a decent solution.

    Hence the request to get the option force the mediainfo on ALL files.

    It doesn’t matter if that takes some time with a big collection, so did the identification and you only have to do it once.

  10. Make "Demos Trailers" available for only setted-up ones

    Demos Trailers are nice for some movies, but not all !

    When "Demos Trailers" option is activated, EVERY movie start with a random demo trailer.
    I'd like an option to play "Demos Trailers" for only movies where a demo trailer is set-up by user.
    Or an option to set default demo trailer to "none".

    My database is pretty huge and I don't want to edit all my movies to define personnalized demo trailer with nothing selected into !

  12. Highres Skin and wallpapers

    It would be great to have an Highres-Skin (3840x2160 nativ) and the possibility to upload own wallpapers for the movies in original quality (such as in Kodi for instance). Currently they look resized and compressed after the upload and not really like an UHD-picture. Maybe because of an upscaled Skin.

  13. Faster loading Artwork on the movie wall

    Artwork for the library should be downloaded and stored locally on the Zappiti rather than loaded from Zappiti Server each time.

    That way artwork for larger libraries would load much faster on the video wall rather than lagging so much - other similar player seem to be able to do this with the slow loading Zappiti currently has

  14. [Interface] General information + actors with TV Series/Shows

    I think there is room for some improvement when it comes to TV Series/Shows in Zappiti Video.

    As you know there is in TMDB a general description of each TV Series. In Zappiti Video I haven't been able to find that information anywhere. The only information I've been able to find is the description of each episode.

    If there is no room for this description I suggest that you'll make it available when pressing the INFO button on the remote control.

    The same thing goes for the name of the actors in a TV Series/Show. In TMDB the names are…

    It will be nice if open subtitle source can download subtitle in multi-language to download, such as Arabic etc...

    its should be supported in your zappiti, i don't know why there is a limitation?

  17. [Feature] More Advanced Tools for the User to Edit/Modify + A Few Quality of Life Features

    I do like a lot of the features on your media devices but would like to have some more control over editing metadata and organizing my personal library. I am a control freak when it comes to organizing my media and right now I find the manual editing functions quite limiting. Any additional advanced tools would be welcome. Here is a list of features that I would like to see come to the Zappiti in order of importance.

  18. [Feature] screensaver

    I see that this has been brought up before but i earnestly ask that you put a screen saver when a movie or tv series is paused... to say you cant do this is astonishing.....for anyone with an OLED tv this could be disastrous.
    please get someone who can fix this problem....

  19. [Interface] A visual message that 3D function is on or off

    A visual message that 3D function is on or off.
    Currently if you press the 3D button on the remote or app there is no indication it is turned on / off. A message on screen informing the user 3D is on or off would be helpful.

  20. [Interface] When you select a module (e.g. Recent), have the outer white border a different colour

    At the moment, when you move along the various modules (e.g. Movies, TV Shows, Recent, etc..) the one you're currently on gets approx 20% bigger.

    However about having it change colour too, something that stands out?

    Sometimes it takes me a few seconds to work out which one I'm currently on, because the increase in size is quite subtle.
