How can we improve Zappiti?

  1. Zappiti Server on QNAP NAS

    Can Zappiti Server be hosted on a QNAP NAS (as an available download from the QNAP App Center in QTS >5.0.x)? A similar option appears to be available for Synology, ASUSTOR (NAS), and WinOS PCs, but not QNAP?

  2. Zappiti Neo First Impressions & Suggestions

    First impressions and suggestions after a week of use (new setup).
    - Setup: Zappiti Neo with Sony 7.2.1 Atmos/DTS:X Receiver with 1080p Sony SDR ceiling mount projection TV; media hosted on 24TB QNAP NAS.
    - Old Media Player (baseline): AppleTV 4K with Infuse Pro.
    - PROS: Zappiti plays anything; direct pass-thru of audio to receiver; tested TrueHD7.1 with Atmos and DTS:X sound streams perfectly!; receiver will recognize and 'upscale' the sound stream automatically to reflect speaker config; Zappiti video GUI works ok but has some pros/cons compared to Infuse; nice to have Zappiti on Win11 as alternative UI to manage…

  3. 1:Make images of cover art load faster 2; control over groups, so image in groups look like episodes in tv section

    Image loading seems to be the number one, number 2 for me would be more control over Groups (The ones you make yourself) Large groups
    with many titles are impossible to stroll through, a feature that lets one
    have a choice of all title showing up like episodes in a TV series

  5. Movie search engine for more than one category

    Since you can add and edit the different categories for each movie, it would be very useful to be able to filter movies with more than one category later. For example, see all the movies that have the categories of comedy, war and science fiction at the same time.

  6. Search engine to incorporate movies in sagas or groups of movies.

    When you want to incorporate a new movie into an existing saga, you have to find the corresponding saga by scrolling in alphabetical order. If you have many saga in your collection, it is very tedious to find the saga in this way. Having a search engine by the name of the saga would make finding the saga much faster.

  7. Barre de progression lors de la lecture

    Bonjour,
    Lors de la lecture d'une vidéo, la barre de progression accessible par les flêches droite et gauche, en superposition sur la vidéo, n'affiche pas de manière naturelle et intuitive le début, la fin, la position actuelle, la durée restante. C'est de la logique et du bon sens, pourtant présent sur l'afficheur du lecteur en façade.
    L'affichage des "infos" depuis la touche info pourrait être beaucoup plus lisible s'il était mis dans le bas de l'image, et non dans un gros pavé.

  8. Support du Samba smb v2 et v3 sur Zappiti Reference (Explorer)

    Bonjour,
    Merci d'ajouter le support de smb v2 et v3 sur nos Zappiti Reference (et autre Neo/Signature), pour que le lecteur puisse avoir accès aux partages SMB v2 ou v3 sur le réseau, et à des NAS qui ne soient pas Zappiti.
    Dans la documentation commerciale, sur votre site, ici dans le topic, vous indiquez que c'est dispo, ce qui n'est toujours pas le cas.

  9. Can't play iso Blu Ray

    Zappiti reference can't play blu-ray iso anymore!

    I have the latest firmware and Zappiti and i have never experienced this.

    Even with explorer the iso can't be played. The screen goes black and stay like that.

  10. Apple File System (APFS)

    Please add the Apple File System (APFS) to Zappiti. This would be the first media player to support this file format. I haven't found a player that supports this format yet.

    How about on the movie screen having the option to select an actor and it will pop up with all the movies the actor is in...like on the Dune

  13. trailer choice

    The movies that I don't want to have a trailer with will randomly start a trailer.
    Can this be adjusted because with a 2-d film sometimes the trailer of a 3-d film starts and that is just not the intention.
    You must be able to manually choose whether you want a trailer for a movie or not.

  14. Force the mediainfo on ALL files option

    In the current Video app mediainfo is only downloaded after when you select the file or manually by selecting the 'force retrieval of the mediainfo' in the menu. Because of this, the Blu-ray/4K banners are only displayed in the movie wall after you have done this for each file. Especially with large collections this is not a decent solution.

    Hence the request to get the option force the mediainfo on ALL files.

    It doesn’t matter if that takes some time with a big collection, so did the identification and you only have to do it once.

  15. Trash the current Video interface and the app behind it and make one decent app from scratch. Take example from Plex and Infuse.

    The current Video app is totally outdated and clunky. It is bad in every possible way. You guys should hire few good devs and make a new app.

  16. Pb de sécurité entre Zappiti et Synology

    La connexion entre 4K HDR et un NAS Synology sous DSM 7 pose un problème de sécurité
    En effet pour accéder au NAS et à ses répertoires, il faut sur le NAS forcer le niveau maximal SMB à SMB1 / et non SMB3 / et d'autre part activer l'authentification NTLMv1
    Ces deux réglages font l'objet d'un warning de sécurité !

  17. Anywhere That I Can "Test Drive" the Zappiti?

    Hi. My name's Dennis. I would like to try the Zappiti out in person to see how it handles different file types, both audio and video, before I buy it but I don't think there's anywhere within 50 miles of me that has it on site. Could you verify that for me?

  18. Make Zappiti work without Internet Connection/Cloud server

    Due to problems with the cloud server by Zappiti, the unit does not function anymore. All files are on local storage, but because of outage on the zappiti cloud server the zappity does not work!!!. This is very bad!!!
    Make it to also work without a internet connection.
