How can we improve Zappiti?

  1. [Tv shows] Manual season creation

    I posted the request in the Zappiti forum under ZMC subforum with an extensive explanation http://www.zappitiforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=777

    If a series is locked at the season level on theTVDB.com site then there is mo way to add extras or specials unless theTVDB site grants the request.

    Please allow for the manual creation of season 0 OR special folder under the series top folder.

  2. [Feature] Improve start up direct to Zappiti Video

    You can set the player to start up with Zappiti video however, this is clunky & home made. The system first boots up with the Z logo and then loads the home centre (with 3 options) and then starts the video app. The screen switches on/off a twice and the resolution adjusts twice. This is really annoying, poorly thought out and sluggish. There should be an option just to both to video, which after the Z logo should just load your wall of pictures.

  3. [Integration] Video streaming compatible Zappiti Media Center V4.

    Video streaming for tablets and smartphones is now only available for old generation of Zappiti Player. It could be nice to have the same app for Zappiti Media Center V4 and Zappiti Player 4K owners.

  4. Faster loading Artwork on the movie wall

    Artwork for the library should be downloaded and stored locally on the Zappiti rather than loaded from Zappiti Server each time.

    That way artwork for larger libraries would load much faster on the video wall rather than lagging so much - other similar player seem to be able to do this with the slow loading Zappiti currently has

    Due to the unstable performance of the Zappiti Cloud Server, I strongly recommend Zappiti to add a Server Utility on QNAP NAS units.

  6. [Identification] More Main Folders

    Actually it is currently only possible to create two Main folders:
    Movie
    TV Show

    It would be great to have more main folders like:
    Animes
    Doku

    Or to create own main folders.
    Because actually you can seperate it in the library to search like: Horror, Western, ...
    But you can't seperate it for the main folders, so if you have 200 movies, 300 animes, 150 Western, ...
    they are all in one main folder in a alphabetical order. This hard to have a overview.

    Please let it make to create own main folders.

  8. [Scraper] Multiple databases with order.

    For example, IMDB then TheTVDB then TMDB. I have some titles that are on IMDB but not on TheTVDB and some that are the other way round.

    It would be fun to have a random film selector - obviously it would have to cater for films already seen, and not play a film in a film series out of order

  10. [Functionality] Video playlist

    The option to create a playlist for video's in a folder would be great.
    For instance:

    at the time the pixar movie "monsters inc" came out with the prefilm "for the birds". When I have those two files in the folder it would be great to have them play in the order prefilm - film, just like it happened in the theater.

    A simple creation like folder name: monsters inc, with the files simply named 1 and 2 in there would be a great and simple start.

  13. [Group] Manual order in Group

    The Zappiti Video application has been great for allowing me to collect collections of movies into Movie Groups. However, it only allows the sorting of movies in those groups by release date order. I would like on occasion to be able to create my own sort order. For example, I would like the Star Wars Saga to be in numerical order (Episode I through Episode IX) with Rogue Squadron and Solo inserted between Episodes III and IV. This would put the films in story chronology order.

    Of course, my desire expressed above is just evidence of my own obsessiveness. However,…

  15. [Synopsis] Add other rating (TOMATOMETER scores, MPAA rating)

    Add Rotten Tomatoes TOMATOMETER scores and the MPAA rating to the description
    The title pretty much says it all. I find the Rotten Tomatoes rating to be the most accurate. Also it would be nice if the rating (PG, R, PG-13) is shown

  16. [Synopsis] Show the age rating (e.g. FSK) on the movie/series detail page

    My kids (8 and 12) always ask me what the age rating of this movie is. I have to ask Google to get the answer. It would be helpful to see the rating directly on the detail page. This information can be easilly obtained from imdb or tmdb.

  17. Force the mediainfo on ALL files option

    In the current Video app mediainfo is only downloaded after when you select the file or manually by selecting the 'force retrieval of the mediainfo' in the menu. Because of this, the Blu-ray/4K banners are only displayed in the movie wall after you have done this for each file. Especially with large collections this is not a decent solution.

    Hence the request to get the option force the mediainfo on ALL files.

    It doesn’t matter if that takes some time with a big collection, so did the identification and you only have to do it once.

    It would be good if Media Centre would automatically select the screen format rather than selecting Menu/Aspect Ratio then Full or Fit.

  20. [Interface] Make the "Wall of Movies" fit 2:35 format

    Since we can crop the menu for 2:35 format, why not make the "wall of movies" fit a 2:35 screen? This is annoying!
