How can we improve Zappiti?

  1. [HDR] Add dynamic HDR (dynamic gamma / tone mapping) optimization like Panasonic HDR optimizer

    Especially for projectors which are limited in light output it is crucial to have a adaption of the gamma curve for HDR.
    Otherwise the picture will be way to dark.
    The best technical solution in the market is currently the Panasonic HDR optimizer.
    It would be very helpful to have a similar feature in Zappiti.

    NFS is easy to implement, and means that we don't have to use the (performance-wise) inferior SMB shares.

  3. [Integration] Netflix 4k

    I would love to use the Netflix app on the Zappiti mini 4k HDR.
    But the current Netflix app is only providing 720p quality, so that is of no use to me. I can't wait to see an update on that, so 1080p and 4k series can be watched!

  4. [Feature] Lip Sync

    One of the main feature missing is the lip Sync. the unit shall be able to adjust the delay (positive or negative) for the audio track.

  5. [Image] More aspect ratio options

    Could you add more Aspect Ratio options ? It exists on most players app like VLC : fit vertically, fit horizontally, best fit, or 16:9, 16:10 etc... (because the only ratio you allowed stretches the image horizontally and is not useful...)

  6. [Feature] Add Pre-roll Function

    One of the functions I loved on Plex was the ability to point the system to a pre-roll file or folder. This would run those clips before starting the movie. We had our own little personalise intro play before movies started. Would love to see this implemented in Zappiti Video.

  7. [Subtitles] Italic and Bold subs

    The player needs the ability to display italic and bold text from srt subtitle files. Almost all other high-end players have this feature.

    SRT can use HTML tags for Italic and Bold, at the very least.

    a line <i>like this</i> will have some italic text.
    a line <b>like this</b> will have some bold text.

    As it is now, the player just displays the <i>, </i>, </b> and <b> as text.
    Please integrate this feature in a future release if at all possible.

  8. [Subtitles] placement

    Most movies are not full screen, but have a black bar above and below the picture. Zappiti always has the subtitles displayed on the picture portion of the screen even when the upper and low black bars are present. We can move the subtitles up but not down. We need the option to move the subtitles down and take advantage of this dark area to position the subtitle text there. In other words, the offset option in the subtitle’s settings should have the ability to go negative.

  9. [Subtitles] Add Grey color

    It would be nice to have a greyish color for subtitles. I watch HDR movies at night and the white subtitles are way too bright. Grey would help , and even transparent

  10. [Ratio] Many 4:3 Videos were stretched to full format instead Original Aspect Ratio.

    Many 4:3 Videos are streteched to Full format instead the Original Aspect Ratio. This looks terrible. You must always set the right Aspect Ratio in the Video Player manually, because he does not keep the setting.

  11. [HDR] HDR10+ support

    There are a few titles that support the newest dynamic metadata format HDR10+ so it would be fantastic to add its support to a future firmware release. MKV container should be fine as well as M2TS files.

    Can you make white subs with some shadow arround the letters? This can be easy to read when the movie has white screen like snow or something! Thank you!

  14. [Metadata] MaxCLL/MaxFALL activation metadata for OLED

    The metadata MaxCLL/MaxFALL is 0 as I think and please activate it .
    This is a problem with the OLED tvs .
    Lowest media players have it and we have the best media player and we don't have it

  15. [Integration] Voice Commands

    Hello,
    With the help of your service tech Chris, I can use my Zappiti with a keyboard. Here is an improvement consideration.

    How about giving the Zappiti the ability to respond to voice commands? Such as asking the player to locate a particular movie or song. The Zappiti maybe used with the Amazon Alexa or Google Home. I have an extensive move library. This, like the keyboard, would be perfect. Thank you.

  16. [Functionality] Remove black bars in movies & tv shows zoom function

    pls make a proper zoom function so we can remove black bars from movies and tv shows. The expact ratio function only stretch the picture from bottom to topp

  18. [Feature] USB 3.0 Expansion

    I bought the Zappiti One 4K HDR Players, and it is great. However, I'm running into a limitation of 5 USB drives using a USB expansion drive. It should supports as many drive as an expansion drive has and right now it is a severe limitation for people with a lot of external USB drives. Please add this to next patch/release.

  19. [Subtitles] Choice of subtitles file

    Once you chose the language of the subtitles, it would be very comfortable to chosse between several subtitles to match perfectly the movie you wanna watch.Thx !

  20. [Remote] Improve the remote

    I own zappiti mini 4k HDR. I'm very satisfied with the product. What disturbing me only the remote control. It's must pointed to the device and the response not smooth.
