[Functionality] Bulk Identification
Bulk Identification
I have around 800 video files not identified as TV Shows in my zappiti.
I can't spend all that time identying each to the zappiti DB one by one.
It would be great if there was a way to select all the files from the same show and identify all of them at the same time.
This would be a great time saver.

I agree 100%. I also have a couple TV shows that are a DVD "Extended" version, and have extra episodes over the regular series, however the first 7 or so episodes get auto-identified under the regular series now. Something like this used to work before but now does not. The series (both of them) have gotten split up into two different shows in the DB and I need to manually edit them one episode at a time to fix.
I also have two catalogs I need to do this in (groan!), one for me, one for my wifes unit...

I am struggling with this as a new user moving from the NetGear NeoTV550 and I have over 1400 files to go through one at a time. The TV SHOWS wall is a great idea but a PITA to get setup correctly.

There's also this similar suggestion which may be worth putting your votes to.

Good call. I believe identification was much better in earlier versions and has gotten more difficult. You could quickly and easily do things in bulk on ZMC and they seemed to be better grouped.
Would love to see identification improved, but I can't toss any votes to this as I haven't got any left.

When Z Video has finished scanning and there are files that need to be identified, why are the files for the same title scattered throughout the list and not grouped together? Or put another way, how come when you've in identified a TV title, it doesn't apply that info to the other files with the same name?

I too have the same problem with movies also, but what's worse is that when you add a file to the HDD drive and want to play it, it's not listed (except in Explorer). I think because it hasn't been (for whatever reason) not scraped yet for the info. Non the less, it should appear amongst the other files in Zappiti Player that are listed. It's like, "if I can't identify it, you can't watch it". Poor, very poor. Zappiti, you need to fix this and it should not be about votes.

Couldn’t have said it better. It almost makes Zappiti video, a useless feature.

I have been chatting with support about this today. ZMC used to do this, if it found episodes not scanned it would group them to series and you could then bulk scan the whole thing. I can't add attachments in comments, but i have screenshots showing this. 10 episodes of 1 show missing, it allows you to identify the one show then it identifies all 10 episodes, you don't need to manually select through one by one.
I had to spend half the night sifting through 60 episodes of 1 show because this feature was removed. And instead of bringing it back, I have to come try to vote it back into existence, because a positive user experience is apparently not what we're looking for here.
The worst part is when you identify the show and go to select the episode, it's already predicted the right one every single time. It's wasted effort to click OK to select the show then OK again to confirm the episode is identified right. Once you confirm the show, everything else is correct.
BRING BACK THE OLD FUNCTIONALITY!!! Stop this one by one nonsense, it's bloody ridiculous.
