[SMB] Smb2 Support
Please add for support for Samba SMB v2. v1 is no longer safe and supported by default in Windows 10. It's unsafe and insecure so please add support for v2 in a future firmware, after all Zidoo and Dune HD have managed it.

The Zappiti 4K HDR range does not support SMB 2/3 as the chipset is not compatible.
However our new range of media players (Zappiti Neo, Reference and Signature) are compatible with SMB 2 and 3.

Will you offer an upgrade discount for existing Zappiti owners?

Can’t believe the official statement: through your expensive player away and by a new one.
What a commercial position and total contempt of its customers! -

They have added support for SMB 2/3 for the new players. Great thanks!
Can’t wait for the Zappitti Reference :-)I will use my votes on here for other Zappitti improvements.

Apparently Zappiti is not listening to their customers. SMB1 und SMB2 are no longer secured and despite a lot of requests Zappiti is not moving forward ignoring the security issues.
I can no longer afford the risks associated with the use of Zapitti and decided tu use apple Pay TV instead with Infuse (supporting 4K ) fully compatible with synology and also QNAP

SMB1 is actually unsecure according to Synology DSM 7.0. Update is urgent neccessessary.

Please let us all Synology users move the votes to this one

(not mine to be clear).
Going the Docker way will address most of the Synology related issues from new Hardware architecture support, to MONO, to SMB3, Folder Backup etc -

This is a big short coming of Zappiti that needs to be fixed ASAP. This isn't a feature request.. This is a security patch.

People have been asking for SMB v2 for over 3 years now. Is development dead for Zappiti?

In Synology DSM 7, SMB1 is no longer supported.
When will Zappiti be updated for Synology DSM 7 -

According to comments on Facebook, current players cannot be upgraded due to the Realtek chipset. Only when they release next gen players will they have more modern SMB support. See posts below for comments in-line from Zappiti:

With SMBv1 Being insecure and open to many vulnerabilities (as well as many devices no longer supporting it) Can we get support for SMBv3 and SMBv2?

Please fix this Zappiti. A $1k high end media player such as the Zappiti Pro 4K HDR should support a more secure protocol in 2021!!!

Hello Zappiti,
Unfortunately, like many others, I feel that my Zapitti 4K mini does not understand any higher samba version. Is it really that they don't care or is the problem already being worked on?
Please don't say I can throw this player in the bin.
I assume that the technology and security have not stood still with you either. -

Any news regarding this topic?
For the future DSM 7 update, can I use SMB V.1 or another option with less risk and more compatible with Synology?
Thank you.
