SMB v2 Support
Please add for support for Samba SMB v2. v1 is no longer safe and supported by default in Windows 10. It's unsafe and insecure so please add support for v2 in a future firmware, after all Zidoo and Dune HD have managed it.

Please fix this Zappiti. A $1k high end media player such as the Zappiti Pro 4K HDR should support a more secure protocol in 2021!!!
for everybody, i have a "solution" for using your zappiti device... i install kodi app... with kodi on zappiti device smb v2 work...
so maybe it's possible to correct this bug oh sorry to add this option to zappiti app!!!!
Unfortunately, like many others, I feel that my Zapitti 4K mini does not understand any higher samba version. Is it really that they don't care or is the problem already being worked on?
Please don't say I can throw this player in the bin.
I assume that the technology and security have not stood still with you either.
Any news regarding this topic?
For the future DSM 7 update, can I use SMB V.1 or another option with less risk and more compatible with Synology?
Hello Zappiti, my 4K player is now completely useless due to not having SMB v2 or higher. You do know that Wannacry infected a lot of computers and as a result of this all devices turned off SMB v1 and updated to higher. It's your lack of action that irritates me! You are letting your customers down and now I regret ever buying anyting from you!
No way to set the SMBv1 with the WEB GUI on NAS QNAP.
This obsolete and insecure protocol can only be set with Linux commands. And there is no help from Zappiti on how to do this. Apparently Zappiti does not care about the great number of QNAP users who are lost for the company. A pity considering the excellent performances of the Zappiti media
zappiti can you give us some news ??!!!!
I have 4k HDR mini
I have had problems with 2 of my NAS units.
WD mirror my cloud
and today Synology DS220+
Both would not let me view my films and wanted me to login over my network, but even with login info it would not allow access.
Eventually figured out I had to drop SMB V1 back down to for playback to work.
Follow this guide? I had no problems? https://pureinfotech.com/setup-network-file-sharing-windows-10/
I have no problems with smb? I can all play the movies thru my network?
This is not professional, I disadvice this device on all forums. Explorer works with SMB1 only. Purchase of this device is a waste of money.
"Improved SMB server and added SMB 2.0 compatibility"
SMB2 only for Server on the Zappiti device? Accessing SMB2 Windows Shares from Zappiti device as client still does not work. 3.15
I use W10 1909 Build 1863.657 I have activate SMB2 with power shell (Set-SmbServerConfiguration -EnableSMB2Protocol $true ) If I use Zappiti Pro 4k HDR (new Firmware 3.15) with Explorer and Login credentials from Windows Users (like username and Passwort) Zappiti message is = unknown error. Is something to configure in Zappiti Options? Thanks
It is now available on the beta firmware 3.15 :)
It is nice to have Japan capacitor and rubber feet to absorb vibration, but a high end media player in 2019 SHOULD be compatible with secure protocol. That is just not an option.
Zappiti need to implement this feature as fast as possible.
I had a conversation with Zappiti over a ticket few years back on this topic. No luck.
I see this as a lack of responsibility from a vendor: SMB1 should not be considered by anyone in right mind. Granted, it's in my lan, over cable. But nobody should stay on a known-unsafe protocol! And still we're stuck with SMB1 because Zappiti.
please add smbv2(3.x) and the ability to store the login credentials (username an password) for a smb / nfs share.
Unbelievable a high end, top of the line media player does not support this! I am so angry I feel like returning my unit
I do not want enable unsafe protocol on my computer. SMB V1 is very old and obsolete.
I agree that support for the updated Samba 3 has to happen because Samba 1 is a huge security risk at the moment and there is a good reason why MS have disabled it in latest update.
