[Interface] Fanart.tv for Movie posters
The Movie DB is currently going through changes and a large number of English posters and background images have been removed from the site. The ongoing maintenance in the forum says:
"In the next few months, you might notice some changes on our site. My primary goal is, and always has been, to build the best media database on the internet and in order for me to stay true to that goal, we will be making these changes to enable TMDb to be more robust and reliable than before."
It's vague, but in a thread I logged about missing posters, Travis said:
"These deletions you're seeing are part of the maintenance project that I posted about here on the forums (look above [Ongoing Maintenance]).
Unfortunately, I can't discuss a lot of the background surrounding this but it's an unavoidable task. All image contributions made in the past few years (and forward) are and will continue to be fine."
He went on to say:
"We won't be restoring them but users are more than welcome to help out and re-contribute data that is missing."
In this request I am making 2 suggestions:
1) Add fanart.tv for Movie scraping if they have an API allowing for this.
2) Use the Zappiti DB catalogue of images to help re-populate TMDB with quality posters and backgrounds, especially English title films.
Many films still have posters in other languages, but the English ones have been depleted and many backgrounds are lost. Can we use Zappiti DB restore these or look at other sources to avoid a single point of failure?

We won’t probably not upload our pictures on Tmdb. I keep the suggestion about Fanart.tv

It's unfortunate to head you say you won't upload content to TMDB when your entire movie catalog is based off their images in the first place.
As they lost content, the request was simply to help them restore what you originally took from them anyway.
Poor form. I expected better given how much they have helped Zappiti become what it is today.
