Remove SMB1 (Unsecure). Also support Synology 1821+ !!!!!
Unimaginable SMB1 is the ONLY protocol still supported (DSM7 will disable this protocol). SMB1 is Soooo insecure. Also Synology 1821+ not supported ???? Why ?.
Wanted to buy the Pro 4k, but now I have to look around for an alternative. Upto now a happy user, but with these limitations I need to look around for another device I suppose.

I just replaced a failed SYNOLOGY DS1815+ (6 Years Old) with a new DS1821+ and everything is working great with both Zappiti and SONOS. I do not have the Zappiti server running on the NAS.
Seems 1821+ has an AMD chipset (vs Intel on the older models) Zo Zappiti Server cannot be selected/installed. So 1821+ will work as a network device (SMB1 only), but the Server is not installable. So when running Zappiti Server online is no problem.
@Six66Mike "How can a player as old as the current models support a much newer NAS? "
Sorry but I was talking about a network protocol SMB1. Even my previous much, much older player (Med8er no 4K) Supported SMB but also NFS. These file protocols are a Software layer and has not much to do with the used hardware.
I doubt the DS hardware is incompatible, it's probably DSM 7 that's the problem.
Is the new Synology DS1821+ not compatible with the zappiti player? I have the DS1819+ And will be replacing it with the DS1821+ next week. Thanks
Already suggested, use the search feature to add votes to existing. Also, not going to happen until new hardware models are released. See https://zappiti.uservoice.com/forums/310888-zappiti-english/suggestions/42604267-support-for-newer-smb-versions
