[Tv shows] Manual season creation
I posted the request in the Zappiti forum under ZMC subforum with an extensive explanation http://www.zappitiforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=777
If a series is locked at the season level on theTVDB.com site then there is mo way to add extras or specials unless theTVDB site grants the request.
Please allow for the manual creation of season 0 OR special folder under the series top folder.

I would like to request the ability to be able to create your own custom series and seasons, and link the video files to it.
With the tvdb website unavailable, it is for instance not workable to have 116 7min theatrical shorts listed in the movies section, whereas they usually were in the series section divided by season

I did a search on Das Boot online and can't find an original TV series. Wikipedia says the movie was also aired as a miniseries. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Das_Boot
There's nothing online about a TV series in 1981, on IMDB or any other site that I could find.

Just got Das Boot (1981) The Original Series. 6 Episodes that show the full length of this art piece. TheTVDb only knows the movie. Currently I have no chance to get it in my TV list :/

You mean Possible Worlds, season 2 of Cosmos 2014? https://www.thetvdb.com/series/cosmos-a-spacetime-odyssey/seasons/official/2
Name it Cosmos (2014) S02E0x episodes and it should scrape fine.
If you get the wrong title, you can force a re-scan - https://zappiti.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/733920--indentification-when-a-movie-is-incorrect-how-c
Or you can do manually as requested - https://zappiti.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/1162231--identification-how-to-insert-a-video-without-ide

I find the scraping process really weird. I have some Superbowl Halftime shows I would like to identify, but the search box returns NIL results, no matter what I search for, despite these half time shows having an entry on the TVDb. Even if I enter the number of the TVDb entry, I get "No results found".

The scraping of information from sources like TheTVDB.com and TheMovieDB.org works 99% of the time but sometimes fails completely. For example, TheTVDB.com has no mention of the recent "Cosmos: Possible Planets" series. In addition, neither would have a way of supporting home-made videos. We need a way of being able to create entries for movies and TV series completely from scratch. Currently, we can edit some aspects of videos that have been identified but we need to go beyond that.

I would find this useful too. For example my Doctor Who folders have a number of short bonus documentaries, deleted scenes, etc which will most likely never exist in an overall series online database, and I would like to be able to create a simple sub-folder within the series folder containing just the bonus material (which would need to be listed showing the filename, as there is never going to be tidy a thumbnail for every one - unless you frame-grab something from 10 seconds into the file)

Can you explain what you have planned to do ?
Can the name of a series be modified (To enhance sorting) ?
Can we create a "personal" series ? Can we add a season (Season 0 for prequel or specials) ? Can we add an episode in a season (One not in TVDb)? -

Any progress with this?

Tried voting for this but it wont accept it.
I would like to be able to add the creation of a TV series to this, not just the creation of Extras and Specials.
Two examples I have are 'Home Videos' and 'Documentaries'. I have recorded many documentaries over the years and would like to group them under a TV series called Documentaries and then being able to rename the season to a subject e.g. Physics, astronomy etc and for my home videos I would like to group as a TV series called Home Videos and rename the season to either a location or year.Putting on my programmers hat, it might be useful to be able to add files automatically, without any metadata, to the database without looking up TheTVDb if a file is found with a certain naming convention is found e.g. My Home Videos_S01E01_Trip to Paris
If a file was found with this certain format, then a TV series called 'My Home Videos' would be created and in Season 1 putting a video called 'Trip to Paris' after which Season 1 could be renamed to something else and any metadata entered manually.

This would help for shows like "Horace and Pete" which TVDB refuses to recognize as a show.
