How can we improve Zappiti?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

  1. [Interface] Option to turn off Tips during startup

    Create a user preference setting that would allow you to turn off the Tips screen(s) shown at Media Center Startup.

  2. [Group] Video wall: set the Group icon "G" to green with completed collections

    When a movie is "seen" you change the Tick from Red to Green. When I have a movie collection (e.g. Star Wars) - if I have all the movies in that collection (all 9) then set the G icon from Red to Green - so I know I am not missing a movie in that collection.

  3. [Functionality] Video playlist

    The option to create a playlist for video's in a folder would be great.
    For instance:

    at the time the pixar movie "monsters inc" came out with the prefilm "for the birds". When I have those two files in the folder it would be great to have them play in the order prefilm - film, just like it happened in the theater.

    A simple creation like folder name: monsters inc, with the files simply named 1 and 2 in there would be a great and simple start.

  4. [Functionality] Customizable Database Reports

    Allow users to create custom reports to export their database details. All database field values should be able to be selectable and user can choose what they need.

    Also, have a flag in the database to indicate if a movie or TV series has a soundtrack associated or not so we can troubleshoot to add if missing. The only way right now is to sift through 1000s of titles to look for the music icon on the box art.

  5. [Interface] Make the "Wall of Movies" fit 2:35 format

    Since we can crop the menu for 2:35 format, why not make the "wall of movies" fit a 2:35 screen? This is annoying!

  6. [Identification] Sorted movies by entering a phrase from a file

    It would be good if you could create your own categories where movies are sorted by entering a phrase from a file. for example, AC3 or DTS

  7. [Category] Add Documentaries in the folders configuration

    I love to watch documentaries, but adding them under MOVIES on a drive configured to my Zappiti Pro 4K HDR just cause them to become unidentified. If I choose to add them without being identified they show up as zombies without cover. My suggestion is to add full support for documentaries as a new main category, and have them identified as such automatically, with covers etc.

    I know one can play documentaries using Zappiti Explorer, and it works fine. It would still be a lot more elegant with them as their own category.

    PS! There were no 'Zappiti Video' category…

  8. [Scraper] Multiple databases with order.

    For example, IMDB then TheTVDB then TMDB. I have some titles that are on IMDB but not on TheTVDB and some that are the other way round.

    if I open a film in video it would be nice if the synopsis stated which genre the film is.
    You cannot know this when you watch the movie through the last added section

  10. [Interface] Change the screen setup for sagas or groups like 007 so that it’s easier to select a movie

    Have the ability to change the layout of the screen within a saga or groups like in the case of 007 movies if you want, where you have to currently scroll through lots of movies to get to the one you want. If it can be changed to a 2 or 3 line display that would help in the case where there are lots of movies within the group.

  11. [Identification] More Main Folders

    Actually it is currently only possible to create two Main folders:
    Movie
    TV Show

    It would be great to have more main folders like:
    Animes
    Doku

    Or to create own main folders.
    Because actually you can seperate it in the library to search like: Horror, Western, ...
    But you can't seperate it for the main folders, so if you have 200 movies, 300 animes, 150 Western, ...
    they are all in one main folder in a alphabetical order. This hard to have a overview.

    Please let it make to create own main folders.

  12. [Group] Manual order in Group

    The Zappiti Video application has been great for allowing me to collect collections of movies into Movie Groups. However, it only allows the sorting of movies in those groups by release date order. I would like on occasion to be able to create my own sort order. For example, I would like the Star Wars Saga to be in numerical order (Episode I through Episode IX) with Rogue Squadron and Solo inserted between Episodes III and IV. This would put the films in story chronology order.

    Of course, my desire expressed above is just evidence of my own obsessiveness. However,…

  14. [Sort] Add ABC option for Movies

    Currently, there is an ABC option with the 'All' menu. That's fine, but it would be nice to have the ABC option just for movies sans TV Shows.

  16. [Functionality] Import collection data into Video App

    Currently we can export collection data, but we cannot import it.

    I have quite big movies collection on my NAS, and I'd prefer to be able to prepare (via own means, e.g. in Excel sheet, or with semi-automation programmatically) a full collection data-sheet, and then just import/update it in Zappiti Video.

    Editing all settings manually in Video app for large collections is counterproductive

  18. [Group] Fast scroll when adding a movie

    When adding a movie to a group either already existing or newly created it would be possible to fast scroll to the group by either being able to click on the first letter of the movie or by pressing a number on the remote.

  20. [Categories] More Video Options other than Movies like Video Songs, Stage Shows

    It would be good to have more main categories other than Movies under Video. There should be options for multilingual folders/categories, Video songs, Stage shows, etc.
