How can we improve Zappiti?

  1. [Subtitles] Italic and Bold subs

    The player needs the ability to display italic and bold text from srt subtitle files. Almost all other high-end players have this feature.

    SRT can use HTML tags for Italic and Bold, at the very least.

    a line <i>like this</i> will have some italic text.
    a line <b>like this</b> will have some bold text.

    As it is now, the player just displays the <i>, </i>, </b> and <b> as text.
    Please integrate this feature in a future release if at all possible.

  2. [Functionality] Option to save and restore settings

    before doing a factory reset it would be good to be able to save login details and settings to a USB stick and be able to restore those details back into the player

  3. [Feature] Standby on Power Plugged

    At my house, each night a timer cut the main power and each morning it put it on but I face the problem that unlike all other s device, the zappiti switch ON instead of Standby...
    An option in the menu to allow us to choose the state of the zappiti when plugged in would be welcome :)

  4. [Subtitles] White font subtitle needs stroke

    For white subtitle font we need black stroke/glow because subtitle is not visible if background is too bright. I am coming from old Mede8er media player which had this.

  5. [Integration] trakt.tv support

    I would love to see trakt.tv integration with your players. Trakt.tv automatically keep track of your recently watched TV shows and movies.

    Its already supported by Plex, Kodi, Popcorn Hour devices and many more.

  6. [Interface] Favorites on the home screen (folder with explorer)

    I would want that added the ability to add to the home screen the folder with the films in which it is necessary each time to search through Zappiti Explorer

  7. [Functionality] Remove black bars in movies & tv shows zoom function

    pls make a proper zoom function so we can remove black bars from movies and tv shows. The expact ratio function only stretch the picture from bottom to topp

  8. [Functionality] Change picture settings during playback

    Most movies have different settings, according to the movie director, and many times we need to change the configuration on the TV.

    Have a option during the playback of the movie to

    Change Brightness
    Change Contrast
    Change Hue
    Change Colours

    this way we wouldn't have to mess with the tv settings
    just for one particular movie (especially if you use a AVR).

  10. [Subtitles] Add additional layer of black border to subtitle text

    The current SRT subtitle is hard to read when the background is the same color as the text. Please add more black borders to the subtitle so that it is easier to read.

  12. [Integration] WOL (Wake on Lan) implementation

    In the actual version (I like it) you have to start manualy the Zappiti player first before you can use the iOS app. Competititors like Kyra for Kodi (freeware) succesfully implemented WOL (Wake On Lan). If the motherboard of the Zappiti (NIC by Shenzhen Eyunmei Technology) allows WOL the most robust way is to implement WOL by MAC address. It could/would be IMHO a boost in usablitiy.

  16. [Audio] Convert DTS HD to DTS Core for SPDIF

    Audio DTS HD are downmixed in stereo to be sent through SPDIF.

    Improvement could be to sent DTS core (5.1) available in DTS HD.

    It would be great to be able to have zappiti interface in 2:35 format, especially for people using a fixed screen with a 2:35 ratio.

    One of the main feature missing is the lip Sync. the unit shall be able to adjust the delay (positive or negative) for the audio track.

  20. [Network] Gapless playback of FLAC (and other formats) audio files when using DLNA.

    When playing a music album using a DLNA player casting to Zappiti player, where each song is ripped in it's own FLAC file, it would be nice to be able to play the files with no gaps.

    I can see, when my TV is on while playing an album, that the music player keeps starting and stopping for each file played, which takes 1-2 seconds between each file.
