How can we improve Zappiti?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

  1. [Feature] Night mode on DRC

    The evening and the night, the volume of sound of actions such as explosions is too loud.
    Is it possible to add a night mode to control the Dynamic Range Compression (DRC)?

    I would like to point out that I have a hi-fi amplifier that does not have this feature.

  2. [Group] Organize movie extras within the same movie

    When a movie is stored in a folder along with another folder containing Extras for that movie, it would be nice if the interface groups these automatically together. Inside the main folder, there would be an option to play the movie or open the Extras folder and select a video from there. Currently this has to be done manually so it would be nice if it's done automatically.

  4. [Interface] Improvements to Change Picture

    When you bring up the Change Picture menu, you are show both posters and wallpaper but you can change only one of them. Either split this up to two different functions or allow user to select a new poster and/or new wallpaper and apply the change to both in a single action. Also, show what the current poster and wallpaper are while navigating for new ones.

  6. [Functionality] Password to protect directory in Zappiti Explorer

    For users that only browse using the Explorer, it would be great to have the feature of password protecting a folder.

    This way parents can create a separate directory for kids to have their own content, and create a separate password protected directory that can have restricted content.

  7. [Video] Make the colors more vivid & accurate for HDR > SDR Tone mapping

    Colours are less punchy and "off" compared to the Blu ray counter parts and other tone mapping conversions.
    Eg. red is too orange.
    Look at 44:30 minutes in on Johnny English Strikes Again - the news reel.
    Hugh Jackman's red coat at the beginning of The Greatest Showman etc.

  11. [Feature] USB 3.0 Expansion

    I bought the Zappiti One 4K HDR Players, and it is great. However, I'm running into a limitation of 5 USB drives using a USB expansion drive. It should supports as many drive as an expansion drive has and right now it is a severe limitation for people with a lot of external USB drives. Please add this to next patch/release.

    I love the idea of this product, and its much more affordability against comptetitors like kaleidescape. Was wondering if there are any plans for making drivers for Savant control system?

  18. [Feature] Allow RAW/passthrough/bitstream audio AND video output

    So it would be possible to use the HDMI IN port on the rear of another player (Oppo for example). The native signal from the external source (Zappiti) could be processed by another player to take advantage of the player's built- in audio and video processing capabilities. Zap's Interface with Oppo's rendering (vivid colors, sharp image) would be fantastic (worked great with my popcorn hour C-200)

    That Zappiti Video remembers the playback parameters separately for each video used for the last time.

    • The chosen audio track.
    • The subtitle chosen and its size, delay, color ...

  20. [Functionality] Zappiti Music - gapless playback

    Hi, I’ve been using the recently added music app, it is a very good addition, but there is one glaring problem that I think could be easily fixed by you, basically the transition between tracks is very poor, I wasn’t expecting gapless (like on an original CD) but the gaps are very long, the start of the following track actually skips a beat as it starts, which is very annoying.
    I’m sure there is a fix for this problem, I’m surprised this wasn’t discovered in its test phase before the live release.
