How can we improve Zappiti?

  1. Different color options for PICTURE WALL halo. White sometimes can't be seen

    Let the user choose the color halo that will best contrasts with their existing collection. White color box around selected movies on the PICTURE WALL sometimes gets lost to the eye when scolling. Having a different color option will be helpful, as the user will be able to choose a color that is visible, and contrasts best to most pictures displayed on the picture wall. I vote for Neon Green, it will never get lost to the eye. Thanks

  2. Improve brightness and contrast controls

    The brightness control while playing a movie is very bad (it is at 50%, you lower it to 49% and RAISE the brightness in an exaggerated way, then you put it at 48% and lower it even more) and also not having a sharpness control incorporated is a handicap.could this be fixed in a future update?

  3. Take the software from the NAS and make it into a desktop app

    The NAS backup is no longer allowed to be sold in the U.S. And let's face it, using DVDFAB or MAKEMKV to rip and then having to go through the trouble of properly renaming files so the Zappiti can recognize them is a pain in the butt, especially when we have to name tv shows and make sure we number each episode. So, if they can take the same software that they have on the NAS and make a desktop app out of it where we can back up our disks with it and when it's finished it automatically names…

  4. [Functionality] Random film selection

    It would be fun to have a random film selector - obviously it would have to cater for films already seen, and not play a film in a film series out of order

  5. Offer compatibility w/ WiFi 6 USB adapter with antennas to utilize WiFi 6 speeds

    The new WiFi 5 routers ASUS RT-AX86U can almost stream full 4K Blu-ray rips with just the occasional hiccups on my Zappiti 4K HDR, but there are WiFi 6 adapters for PC & laptops that allow use of higher speed WiFi 6 with software. If you could make it compatible with Zappiti we might be able to stream full 4K Blu-ray!

  6. Display the file size anywhere on the presentation screen.

    When we have a same movie several times, they are grouped together wich his fine.
    But to decide which is the best quality one it could be also usefull to see the size of each files from the presentation screen.
    We already have the codec and quality description but this size file info could be very usefull when codec are not correctly read.
    Here I have to go to edit menu to read the file name and then go on my NAS to check the size of each of them.

  7. More display options for NEO

    I would love to have the option to have the display show time when the player is in standby - and then turn the display off when the player is turned on (and the movie starts)

  8. Tmdb or Imdb for tv shows option.

    search tv shows via imdb is certainly an added value for me, tmdb is not always correct, example: into the dark 2019, la casa de papel 2017. would be nice if we get a choice in this as with movies.

  9. [Local Server] Docker for all Systems, not only Synology

    I don't understand, why docker is only available for Synology. While Synology is based on Intel-CPU's shouldn't it be possible to use it on other systems?

    I personally use an Intel NUC which has Ubuntu and docker. The docker I am using are able to use on Synology too. But the Zappiti Server docker only runs on Synology.

    My Media is on unraid (which also can use docker) and I don't want to buy a Synology NAS just for the Server-docker.

    When docker on Intel based Systems are used, why don't let the user decide? I don't get the point…

    Since I only adapt my film collection to Windows PC for my needs (covers, descriptions, etc.), the latest update has brought improvements, but also some deterioration for me personally.
    Until now, I was able to store other data myself in the technical information, such as ratio, HDR, etc. Especially with the subtitles, I was able to write in advance which subtitle track was forced (accompanying text).
    I have to take what you offer me in every category.
    Wouldn't it be possible to add a custom field to each section?

  13. When will button 6 on the remote control work?

    I would like that the button 6 of the remote control (Dimmer) could really work to be able to have a completely dark room, since the blue led and the movie time/time of day display bothers a lot when you have a dedicated room. Thanks a lot

  14. [Feature] More Advanced Tools for the User to Edit/Modify + A Few Quality of Life Features

    I do like a lot of the features on your media devices but would like to have some more control over editing metadata and organizing my personal library. I am a control freak when it comes to organizing my media and right now I find the manual editing functions quite limiting. Any additional advanced tools would be welcome. Here is a list of features that I would like to see come to the Zappiti in order of importance.

  15. [Navigation] (Music) folder(s)

    It should be possible to add a Music folder to Zappiti Neo on the "Home" screen! One should anyway be able to add more folders to the "Home" screen like "Pictures", "Files" etc. to get direct acces from the "Home" screen to the Zappitinas folders.

    Set up default play method for 3D movie for example to Side by side. Or just remember last movie play method for 3D movie.

  18. [Interface] General information + actors with TV Series/Shows

    I think there is room for some improvement when it comes to TV Series/Shows in Zappiti Video.

    As you know there is in TMDB a general description of each TV Series. In Zappiti Video I haven't been able to find that information anywhere. The only information I've been able to find is the description of each episode.

    If there is no room for this description I suggest that you'll make it available when pressing the INFO button on the remote control.

    The same thing goes for the name of the actors in a TV Series/Show. In TMDB the names are…

  19. [Interface] When you select a module (e.g. Recent), have the outer white border a different colour

    At the moment, when you move along the various modules (e.g. Movies, TV Shows, Recent, etc..) the one you're currently on gets approx 20% bigger.

    However about having it change colour too, something that stands out?

    Sometimes it takes me a few seconds to work out which one I'm currently on, because the increase in size is quite subtle.

  20. [Identification] support .nfo files

    Please allow .nfo files, so that we can create our own custom series/episode lists, that can be then scanned to the library instead of having to scrape them via tmdb. A bonus then would be that one is allowed to choose to use the "local files" or the scraper provided.
