Use and setup a Zappiti Player 4K with a Zappiti NAS


Before starting to create a movie collection, you can place all your existing movies inside the Zappiti NAS "video" folder. If you have TV shows, place them in the dedicated folder named "Series" or "TV Shows".

1. On your Zappiti NAS, please fill  the movie sub-folder named "Movies" in your "video" shared folder. Place all your movie files in it.
Note : The movies ripped by the NAS go automatically there.
2. Your movies should be named with the title of each movie. For example, the file of the title "Metropolis" should be named "Metropolis.mkv". You can create subfolders in the folder "Videos" if you want.

TV Shows / TV Series
1. On your NAS or your HDD, please use the "TV SHOWS" sub-folder of your video shared folder..
2. Then, create a subfolder for each TV Show / Serie. You can create a subfolder by season if you want. Then , place all your TV Show episodes in it.
3. Your Episodes must be named as: "Seriename s01e01".

Start your Zappiti Player.

On the main page, click on the firt button named "Zappiti". 

Follow the instructions on the screen to select you language.

Then you'll see an info panel about the remote control. The AirMouse is not available in Zappiti but you can use the keyboard located on the back of the RF AirMouse.

Create a Zappiti Account

The next panel will invite you to create a Zappiti Account. 
Follow the on-screen instructions to create your Zappiti Account. If you already have a Zappiti account, enter your email and password and click "Connect". If you have forgotten your password, click on "I forgot my password?" and follow the instructions on the screen. To type your password, do not forget you can use the keyboard on the back of the AirMouse.  

Then, enter your "Token" number. You will find it on a label located on the underside of your Zappiti Player 4K. You can also find it on the Zappiti Player 4K packaging.

Warning! This "Token" number can only be associated with one Zappiti account. So please choose carefully before associating the Token number to an account, and please note your Zappiti Login (your email address) / Password associated to the Token Number somewhere to remind it if needed later.

Note: If you see "This token number is already used," perhaps you have already registered your player with a different email address. In this case try a different email address.

By default, Zappiti NAS is selected as Zappiti Server if your Zappiti NAS is running. You have to use your Zappiti NAS as server.


A first collection is created by default. But you can rename it. To rename a collection, just click on it then use LEFT/RIGHT to select the dedicated TAB.

After selecting your account, your server, and your collection, please press Connection button. 

Inside your collection

Zappiti will start to scan your folders and analyse your video contents.

You can see the current scan taks in a dedicated panel. To close the current task panel, press RETURN button of your RC.
If you close it, you can display it again through the MENU button of your RC.

Done! Now you can enjoy your Zappiti collection!

In this section you can find all your movies.

In this section you can find all your TV Shows and Series Episodes.

In this section you can find the most recent video contents.

In this section you can fin your video contents sorted by categories (genres).

To access to additional features, press MENU button of your IR remote control.

Adding a movie file
When you add a movie file to your "Movies" folder, Zappiti will automatically index it during the next restart of the application. To force the analysis, please use the dedicated option located in the Zappiti Menu. (Please use Menu button on the remote).

Deleting a movie file
When you delete a movie file from your 'Movies' folder, Zappiti automatically remove his cover and descriptive page from your Zappiti collection during the next analysis.
Warning! You can manually remove a movie cover using the "Delete" option located in the Zappiti menu. But this does not delete the movie file. Thus, in the next analysis, the movie cover is regenerated. To permanently remove a movie cover from your Zappiti collection, please physically delete the file stored in your "movies" folder or move it to another folder outside the "Movies" folder.

Folder configuration

Your collection will be already set-up to analyse content ripped by your Zappiti NAS or added to the existing video folder as explained above.
But you also can add other folders, such as external drives or other running NAS.

To add a folder, press the menu button and select "Settings" :

To add a folder containing movies or TV shows, please click on the dedicated button located on the first tab (Folder).

If your files are located on a local storage, please click on Zappiti Player 4K. Then click on the storage name (could be named sda1 or sda2). Then explorer it to add your folder.
If your files are located on a local network storage, press DOWN button to display your network storage. If your Network storage is not displayed, please click on Add a network device.

Then explore it at locate you folder containing your movies (or TV shows) and click on it.

When you are in the folder containing your movies or TV show DON'T EXPLORE THE MOVIE FOLDER! Just press OK button. If not, Zappiti will analyse only one movie instead of all the movies. You should add your "MOVIES" (or FILMS) folder. Not a folder containing only one movie.

Your folder will be added in the movie folder list (or TV show). You can check the path by looking on the generated plath located between "Movies" button and "Edit" button. Your path should stop to the "Movies" folder (or "Films" folder).

If your path is incorrect, you can modify it by using "Edit" button. Press "Delete" button to delete the folder from Zappiti. (Don't worry! Your movies will not be deleted).

If you want to add another folder containing movies or TV Shows, please click on the dedicated button.
