Zappiti Digital Signage Configuration

The Zappiti 4K HDR feature Digital Signage function to display specific video contents in loop in many places. For instance, if you own a shop brand, you can display your advertisements in all the shops of your brand. Every morning, the staff of your shops just have to switch on the Zappiti device and the TV or projector. There is nothing else to set.

Example of use:
- Museums
- Shops
- Company Lobby
- Exhibitions and shows
- Waiting rooms (hospital, doctors...)
- Hotel halls
- Swiming pools
- ...


Pre-requisites

1. All your videos have to use the same frequency and resolution. They also have to be encoded in 8-bit if possible. If not, you'll have black screen during 1 sec. betweew each videos.
2. Your videos have to be encoded in 59.94p. If you want to use another frequency such as 23.976p, please set all your Zappiti media players in the same frequency.
3. In the name of the video, you can enter a digit number in order to organize your video order of downloading. For instance: 
- 01-general.mp4
02-news.mp4 
- 03-events.mp4
- 04-advertisement.mp4  
Note: It will not affect the playback order, only the download. The playlist is played randomly.
4. We advise you to use HEVC / H.265 / x265 codec for the best performances.

Simple procedure for one zone


1. Place your videos in a "savescreen" folder located at the root of a local drive connected in USB to the Zappiti or on an internal drive if you are using a Zappiti with internal tray. You can also use an SD card. In this case, please make sure that your SD card is fast enough if you want to display 4K videos. 

2. Connect your Zappiti media player on Internet and start it. Then, Launch the app Screensaver located in MyApps.

3. Then, switch ON the button located under "Enabling the video screen saver".  



4. Then, set the delay before activating the video screensaver to 1 min. 


5. To add your personal videos, swith ON the dedicated button located under Personal videos. 

6. The Zappiti will start to download the first video. Please wait until all the videos are downloaded in the internal memory. Then, press Back button of your RC to quit the Screensaver settings
Now your videos will start to be played on start-up of your Zappiti media player.  If you change the videos on the server (replace, delete or add new videos), the videos will be atomatically downloaded on each Zappiti and then played back randomly.

Multizones procedure


If you want to display the same video in many places all around the world, please follow this procedure.

1. Place your videos in an HTTP server. Your videos have to be placed online and the shared folder have to be accessible from Internet. For instance: http://myserver.com/myvideos

2. Create text file named myvideos.txt and place in the HTTP shared folder like this:  http://myserver.com/myvideos/myvideos.txt
In the file, write the name of each video on every line, avoid special characters and spaces in the file name, the file extension must also be filled

Example :
general.mp4
news.mp4
events.mp4
adviertisement.mp4

3. Create a second text file named video.txt
Place it on the root of a local drive connected in USB to the Zappiti or on an internal drive if you are using a Zappiti with internal tray. You can also use an SD card.
In the file you will enter the complete path to your text file which contains the list of videos to download on your server, for example http://myserver.com/myvideos/myvideos.txt

2. Connect your Zappiti media player on Internet and start it. Then, launch the app Screensaver located in MyApps.

3. Then, switch ON the button located under "Enabling the video screen saver".  



  4. Then, set the delay before activating the video screensaver to 1 min. 


5. To add your personal videos, swith ON the dedicated button located under Personal videos. 

6. The Zappiti will start to download the first video from your server. Please wait until all the videos are downloaded in the internal memory of the Zappiti media player. Then, press Back button of your RC to quit the Screensaver settings. Repeat the operation for each Zappiti. 

Then, your videos will start to be played on start-up of all the Zappiti media players. If you change the videos on the server (replace, delete or add new videos), the videos will be atomatically downloaded on each Zappiti and then played back randomly.

If you want to create different areas, just place a different video.txt with different link for each zone. With this tip, you can have different videos depends on area, shop, or marketing / advertisement target.
