Cannot access to a Windows folder content


If you see an error appearing when you try to access a Windows folder with your credentials, here is a list of steps you have to be sure :

  • The folder has to shared on the local network.
  • You can follow this article : sharing a folder.

  • Windows account used must be a local account.
  • Windows allows to connect with a local or Microsoft account. Microsoft accounts (with email) don't work.
    When you go in your user account settings, you can switch from a Microsoft account (with email) to a local account (with simple credential)

  • SMB1 protocol has to be activated if you want access to the shared folder from your Zappiti media player.
  • To activate it, follow this process : activate SMB1.

  • If you have a firewall or antivirus, please try to modify the settings of them. In fact, they can block the communication between the devices.

  • Your account is not authorized to connect from this device


    In order to resolve this message, you have to authorize the connection "non secured".

  • To do that you have to edit Windows register.
  • Go on the key : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanWorkstation\Parameters
    On the right, create a key AllowInsecureGuestAuth and give it the valor "1".
