What is a DAC?

A DAC is a converter of digital audio signals into analog audio signals. Most DACs offer coaxial and optical digital audio inputs, and sometimes a USB DAC input. It is the latter that interests us. Indeed, the coaxial and optical outputs are connectors that are too old to support the DSD format. Only USB DAC and HDMI are compatible with native DSD streams, otherwise they are converted to PCM. But only a few DACs are HDMI compatible and even fewer applications can support this type of output.

It is also possible to explore your musical files or take advantage of quality indexing with presentation of albums by covers. In addition, it offers DLNA network access to enjoy your audio files stored on a NAS, but also access to local hard drives (internal or external). Finally, it also offers a DLNA Server function, which allows you to control your player from a tablet or smartphone via an additional DLNA app such as Bubble UPNP (see the end of this tutorial).
